If you are in London after the Magickal Women Conference there are more events taking place on Sunday 2nd June that have been set up with our audience in mind, offering a great way to round off the weekend after our doors close.
We are thrilled to announce that on Sunday morning 2nd June Caroline Wise will be leading a Walking Tour of the British Museum, uniquely for the Conference audience.
Caroline’s walking tours are always in great demand: she shares her extensive knowledge of London’s magical history, folklore and hidden sacred traditions, inspiring her audience with stories that evoke the ancient spirits of the city. Join Caroline on 2nd June at 11:20 am for this special new tour:
Magical Women and Goddesses of the British Museum
This 90 - minute tour embraces the women magical pioneers, Florence Farr, Dion Fortune, Moina Mathers, and Pamela Colman Smith, and their relationship to the British Museum. What inspired them there, informing their esoteric work?
We will also look at some of the many goddess figures displayed in the Museum that influenced and empowered the re-emergence of goddess spirituality, and many modern pagan women, and continue to do so today.
Caroline Wise has been leading well-received tours of the esoteric aspects of the British Museum collections for many years, currently running them regularly for Treadwells Books, and the annual Origins Conference. She highlights and contextualises exhibits that relate to the magical and pagan revival. She shows why the ancient goddesses are relevant for women today. Caroline has contributed to several books on the Goddesses and on Women magicians, and is co-editor with John Matthews of The Secret Lore of London (Coronet books, 2016).
Caroline’s tours are a wonderful introduction to occult London and we expect this event to be extremely popular: please note that tickets are limited and only available at the Conference. Buy yours early to avoid disappointment! NB If you’d like to join the tour and need a wheelchair, these must be booked at the British Museum well in advance to be sure of getting one for the day.
