About our Speakers

Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki

Dolores Ashcroft—Nowicki, our Headline Speaker

We are honoured to welcome Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki as the first Magickal Women Conference’s headline speaker.  Dolores has been a leading respected esoteric practitioner for over 50 years and continues to share her knowledge with students in Britain and around the world.  Dolores trained with Walter Ernest Butler, himself a member of Dion Fortune’s Fraternity of the Inner Light (est.1928), making Dolores part of a living magical lineage within the Western Mystery tradition. Dolores succeeded Ernest Butler as Director of Studies of the Servants of the Light (SOL) in 1976 and served for forty-two years. A renowned British occult author of seventeen books, she has travelled the world tirelessly since 1970s, delivering seminars, lectures and practice workshops. In 2018 Dolores retired as Director of SOL and launched her Solar Light Video Club, through which she continues to make available her many years of accumulated knowledge to a worldwide audience: she has a passion to communicate with great insight and plenty of good humour. We are thrilled that Dolores is joining us at Conference and we look forward to her sharing her wisdom with us all.

Christina Oakley-Harrington

Christina Oakley-Harrington, our Keynote Speaker

We are very pleased to announce Christina Oakley-Harrington, Treadwell’s founder and presiding spirit, as our keynote speaker. Christina was voraciously interested in spirituality and magic since childhood, and grew up in West Africa, Burma, and Chile, only moving to the West at the age of fifteen. In her early twenties she was heartened to discover Europe’s own native religious traditions, and has been a pagan ever since. A former academic with a doctorate in Mediaeval History, she left university life in 2001 to establish Treadwell's Bookshop as one of the UK’s premier esoteric bookshops, now based in Bloomsbury London W1 with an international reputation. Christina is a respected author, consultant and authority on paganism and witchcraft: her media appearances have included Channel Four TV, BBCTV, BBC Radio and BBC World Service. A warm and engaging speaker, with deep knowledge and enthusiasm, we are delighted to welcome Christina to Conference.
